A family or group session can be a really useful way for individuals to review progress and share insights with the people who matter most.

I have significant experience working to support families as a unit and can offer joined up meetings, as appropriate, to facilitate closer relationships and improved communication. This will always be discussed and agreed on as a helpful way forward by all members of the family first.
Individual therapy can often unlock a wish to communicate more openly and honestly with family members; in some cases this can be helpfully facilitated by arranging a group meeting. In my experience, young people and parents have been particularly grateful for this opportunity towards the end of individual therapy; family sessions have allowed for respectful, healing conversations to take place in a safe space with an emphasis on listening, empathy and empowering psycho-education.
"Mel has been incredibly understanding, supportive and caring. I always felt safe talking with her and it felt like she cared about me and that she genuinely wanted to help me. …. I will be forever grateful for the help and compassion I have been given and I highly recommend her to anyone who is struggling with their mental health. I had been to a different counselling service in the past and found it helpful, but this has been transformative for me." - C
